The Conference ‘A New Justice for the New Urban Agenda’ will take place in Madrid next week, organized by the UN-Habitat Office in Spain. The event will bring together an interesting group of speakers including political authorities, planners, scholars and activists, discussing in advance of the Third UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Development, HABITAT III, to be held next month in Quito. I will participate in a panel with Rachelle Alterman, José Manuel Calvo, Saskia Sassen and Joan Subirats, dedicated to debate the notion of urban equality and the role different city ‘builders’ play in its fulfillment. La próxima semana se celebra la conferencia ‘Una nueva justicia para la Nueva Agenda Urbana’, organizado por la Oficina de ONU-Habitat en España. El encuentro reunirá a un interesante grupo de ponentes incluyendo representantes políticos, planificadores, académicos y activistas, en debate para la preparación de la Tercera Conferencia de Naciones Unidas sobre Desarrollo Sostenible y Vivienda, HABITAT III, que tendrá lugar el próximo mes en Quito. Participaré en una de las sesiones junto a Rachelle Alterman, José Manuel Calvo, Saskia Sassen y Joan Subirats, dedicada a discutir la noción de equidad urbana y el rol de los distintos ‘constructores’ de la ciudad en su consecución.
